it makes me a little bit sad that gameboys and other lo-bit video-game systems had their time. all the people who grew up with them, they’re all the people who will have grown up with them. the age range is set, stuck, all it will ever be. a certain specific aesthetic world that nobody in the future will understand. will there be new chiptune artists 70 years from now? will old videogames be a meaningful referent for people? do all aging people feel this, this loss of worlds heralded by the turning of generations?
